Outfit Planning

Outfit planning is something I used to swear by. I always did this for sixth form, for days at uni and of course for any evening’s out.

I’m not sure why I ever got out of this habbit, potentially laziness haha, as it does require spending some of your evening planning for the next day or your weekend if you like to plan for the week ahead.

In all seriousness though I think I started an office job fresh out of uni, I didn’t want to stand out in bold fashion choices so I slowly became known as ‘the women in black’ and it was super easy to grab a black pair of trousers of some sort, a black coat and a knit; that I just didn’t need to outfit plan anymore.

I still liked my leather trousers in autumn, my skirts in the summer and my fur coats in the winter, all accessorised with designer inspired bags, shoes and jewellery of course, but everything was always in black.

I think after a few years of this, that just became the norm for me, with only the pop of colour added in here and there. Dressing for comfort and dressing to ‘not’ stand out.

Now don’t get me wrong I still love an all black outfit but I think working from home over these last few months has reminded me how much I love fashion and experimenting with fashion, I don’t have one style; I love all styles and it’s been really fun trying different looks and fashion pieces I have always wanted to try, colour’s that I’ve wanted to style and just wearing what I want, when I want.

Would you believe until this year I have never owned a fedora hat, I always felt silly in hats but I’ve always loved them on other people. This year I thought I’m at home and I’m trying one, so I picked up a black one super cheap from shein and it’s barley left my head since. I now have 6, all in different colours.

I still like comfy, easy fashion, but I also love preppy fashion and gossip girl inspired fashion, simple fashion and chic fashion; and outfit planning has massively helped me say hello to fashion again.

I now post outfits daily on my LTK and Instagram, and I’ve started using pinterest again ALOT to look for fashion inspo, since the start of Instagram I can’t remember the last time I looked on pinterest if I wasn’t looking for a recipe or some home decor inspo but it’s actually still really fun.

Here are some of my recent outfit planning looks! All the items featured can be shopped from my LTK
